A chemical peel loosens and lifts away the top layers of skin so fresher skin shows beneath. The Perfect Derma is a professional-strength peel that we use for dullness, uneven tone, and marks left behind by breakouts.

Peeling is part of how it works. You can expect flaking for several days, so plan it ahead of busy weeks.

How a visit goes

  1. 1

    Consultation

We check your skin type, history of peels and any medications, and decide whether this peel suits you.

  2. 2

    Prep

The skin is cleansed and degreased so the peel goes on evenly.

  3. 3

    Peel application

The peel is applied in layers. You may feel warmth or a mild sting that settles.

  4. 4

    Finish and instructions

We soothe the skin, apply SPF and give you a written aftercare plan.

What happens on your skin

Over the next few days the treated skin dries and flakes off, taking dull surface cells with it. Fresh skin underneath often looks brighter and more even.

How much you flake depends on your skin. It is normal, and picking at it can leave marks, so let it come away on its own.

Planning around a peel

Book it when you can lie low for several days. Avoid sun exposure and strong actives like retinoids or exfoliating acids until peeling finishes, and wear SPF every day.

One peel gives a noticeable refresh. For tone and post-breakout marks, a series spaced a few weeks apart builds on it.

Who should check with us first

Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have used isotretinoin recently, are prone to cold sores, or have very sensitive skin. We may adjust or postpone.

Aftercare

  • Do not pick or pull flaking skin
  • Gentle cleanser, rich moisturizer and daily SPF
  • Avoid sun and strong actives until peeling is done

Mineral makeup is usually fine after the first day or so. We will give you specifics.
